Reiki and Pranic Healing – What’s the Difference?

Reiki and Pranic Healing are both forms of energy healing, and both aim to support the body’s natural ability to restore balance.

They work in different ways.

Reiki

Reiki is usually carried out with hands placed on or near the body. The practitioner acts as a channel for healing energy, and sessions are often experienced as deeply relaxing.

People often turn to Reiki for:

-
General wellbeing
-
Stress relief
-
Relaxation
Pranic Healing

Pranic Healing is a non-touch system that works directly with the body’s energy field. It uses structured techniques to cleanse and energise specific areas of imbalance.

Pranic Healing is often used for:

-
Chronic or long-standing pain
-
Emotional overload or anxiety
-
Issues that have not fully resolved over time
Pranic Healing has also been evaluated within NHS settings. Initial studies began at King’s College Hospital, London, and following positive early outcomes, the work was expanded to include programmes across ten further NHS hospitals. These studies reported encouraging results, with a high proportion of participants experiencing significant improvement. In some programmes, effectiveness rates of up to 85% were reported.

As with all complementary approaches, individual experiences vary and Pranic Healing is intended to support wellbeing rather than replace medical care.

Many people begin their healing journey with Reiki. Some later find they need a more targeted and systematic approach, particularly when symptoms persist.

That is why I now work exclusively with Pranic Healing.
